Uniswap NFT Aggregator Goes Live

Uniswap launched its NFT aggregator tool along with an airdrop of roughly $5 million USDC to select Genie users. Genie is an NFT aggregator that was acquired by Uniswap back in June. Users who made more than one transaction on Genie before April 15th are eligible for a $300 USDC airdrop and have 12 months to claim it.

Users who held select Genie NFTs are also eligible for a $1,000 USDC airdrop. Uniswap is also offering gas rebates to the first 22,000 NFT buyers. Uniswap’s NFT aggregator supports listings from OpenSea, X2Y2, LooksRare, Sudoswap, Larva Labs, and Foundation. The aggregator uses Universal Router for lower gas fees.

Casa Expands Support To Ethereum

Bitcoin custody platform Casa announced that it will add support for Ethereum. The integration is expected to launch in January as part of an overhauled version of the app. Casa uses a multisig approach to cold storage in which users need 2/3 signatures to approve a transaction. Casa securely stores one of the keys for users.

The multisig approach helps users recover funds in the event that one of the keys is compromised or lost. Initially, the service will only support bitcoin and ether with ERC-20 token and NFT integrations to be decided on at a later date. Previously, Casa has been a custody platform focused exclusively on Bitcoin products.

Gnosis Chain Undergoes Bellatrix Upgrade

Gnosis Chain validators are required to update their nodes ahead of the Bellatrix upgrade. The network is set to undergo The Merge on around December 7th, which will transition the network’s consensus mechanism from proof of authority to proof of stake. Nodes are required to run both an Execution Layer and a Consensus Layer client.

Validators who fail to update their nodes will be hit with inactivity penalties until their node is updated. DAppNode packages have been released for Nethermind, Teku, web3signer, and Lighthouse clients on the network. Formerly known as xDAI chain, Gnosis Chain is an Ethereum sidechain that provides low-cost transactions.

Mantle Unveils Modular L2 Network

Mantle Network unveiled its modular L2 network promising low fees and high-security guarantees. Mantle combines a data availability layer with rollups to power hyperscaled dapps. The network will use EigenLayer for its data availability solution. Akin to a Validium, Mantle executes both computation and data storage off-chain.

EigenDA introduces a re-staking mechanism that allows L1 ETH stakers to secure the data availability layer by re-staking a pegged asset on L2. Mantle Network was initiated by BitDAO and plans to use the DAO’s $BIT governance token as the native gas token on L2. Mantle is still exploring Optimistic and ZK Rollup network designs.
