L2Beat Introduces BYOR

L2Beat, a Layer 2 analytics platform, unveiled Build Your Own Rollup (BYOR), an educational project dedicated to helping users understand rollup technology. BYOR offers a stripped-down version of a Sovereign rollup, incorporating three main components, which are a smart contract, a node, and a wallet. While BYOR does not enhance Ethereum's scalability due to the intentional exclusion of a state root verification system, it prioritizes simplicity. The tool simplifies various network interactions such as transaction signing, event fetching, and fee sorting, allowing users to dive into and learn from rollup architecture and source code.

Uniswap Wallet Android Beta

Uniswap launched a beta version of Uniswap Wallet for Android. To gain access to this beta release, users can join the waitlist at waitlist.uniswap.org. Uniswap Wallet supports swaps on Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, and BNBChain. The iOS version of Uniswap Wallet was first released in April. The wallet automatically switches between networks based on the selected token. Last month, Uniswap integrated the MEV Blocker into its mobile wallet, which reroutes transactions through a private mempool, safeguarding users from MEV attacks. The wallet also auto-detects fee-on-transfer tokens.

Developers Consider EOF For Prague

During this week’s ACD call, core developers debated whether the Prauge upgrade should prioritize Ethereum Object Format (EOF) or Verkle Tries. Prague is the next upgrade after Dencun. EOF is a collection of EIPs that introduce an opt-in container for EVM code. The container improves code validation and enables new functionality. Verkle Tries is a new data structure that provides smaller proof sizes and makes stateless clients on Ethereum more feasible. According to Tim Beiko, a devnet for EOF will go live in as soon as one month. Core developers are currently working to stabilize the final Dencun devnets before upgrading Goerli, Holesky, and Sepolia testnets.

Alchemy Account Abstraction Toolkit

Alchemy released Account Kit, a toolkit for embedding smart accounts with account abstraction features into dapps. Developers can use the toolkit to implement social login, sponsored gas fees, custom checkout flows, and notifications. The kit consists of Alchemy’s AA SDK, Light Account, wallet Signers, and APIs for managing gas fees and batch transactions.
