Viem 2.0 Release With OP Stack Support
Wevm released Viem 2.0, an updated version of its TypeScript interface for Ethereum that introduces support for the OP Stack. The update features capabilities for handling low-level OP Stack operations, improved type support, and minor bug fixes. Viem 2.0 supports OP Stack actions such as deposits, withdrawals, and estimating L1 gas fees for OP Stack chains. Positioned as an alternative to popular frameworks like Ethers.js and web3.js, Viem focuses on aspects like stability, user experience for developers, reduced bundle size, and overall performance. Viem is used to streamline and simplify transaction complexity.
EigenLayer Reaches LST Deposit Caps
Ethereum restaking protocol EigenLayer has hit its deposit limit of 500,000 ETH for LSTs. Currently, the protocol's TVL exceeds $1.3 billion from both LST and native restaking deposits. EigenLayer is in the midst of its three-phase launch process, presently focusing on phase two, which involves bringing node operators online. EigenLayer plans to launch phase two to mainnet this quarter. The final launch phase, expected to later in the year, will onboard Actively Validated Services (AVSs). There is currently no limit for native restaking, which involves pointing validator withdrawal credentials to an EigenPod smart contract.
Privy Partners With Pimlico
Authentication development tool provider Privy has partnered with account abstraction infrastructure provider Pimlico. The partnership enables Privy to act as a signer for smart accounts created using Pimlico's Permissionless.js TypeScript library. Permissionless.js, built on the Viem framework, serves as an SDK for managing ERC-4337 user operations. Developers using Privy can now integrate bundler and paymaster capabilities into smart accounts. Privy offers wallet connectors for embedded wallets, supporting web2 sign-up methods such as an email or Google account.
